Why is it free right now?
Coeus is in beta. The app works and I use it every day, but I’m still adding features and want real feedback before putting a price on it. Free during the beta means you can try it without committing to anything.
What happens when the beta ends?
Coeus becomes a paid one-time purchase. I’ll send an email before anything changes, so you won’t be caught off guard.
Will my notes still work after launch?
Yes. Your notes are plain Markdown files on your machine. They’re not stored on any server. Nothing about them changes based on whether you’re on the beta, the paid version, or even if Coeus stops existing.
Is there a subscription?
No. Coeus is a one-time purchase. You buy it once and keep it. The AI you connect (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) has its own subscription, but that’s between you and that provider. Coeus itself is not a subscription.
What do you mean by “bring your own AI”?
Coeus is a note app with an AI layer on top. The AI (the chat, the search answers) comes from a model you connect. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, a local model running on your machine. You pick. Coeus doesn’t bundle or sell AI credits.
